Quest day 3
Is the worst behind us? Will these ou's wake us up at dawn's crack again and take us for an early morning boot camp hike in full riding gear? What is going to happen today?
These were the thoughts going through our minds as we fell asleep the previous night.
Well we had none of that I am happy to announce. We were left in peace to freeze in the minus temperatures all on our own. It was lekker...
We went up to breakfast at 7h30, followed by a session of Q&A from the contestants. Most took this opportunity by the horns and asked to their heart's content. A lot of details were still lingering in the air and we had thoughts and concerns to address.
We then spilt up in teams, washed and loaded 12 beautiful bikes on trailers, cleaned and packed up camp and repacked the super impressive 4x4 Iveco double cab bakkie (one of my dream vehicles I must just add - they just scream "ADVENTURE", don't they?). It was at this point that we eventually realized that we weren't going to be in for another written test. I breathed a sigh of relief and I'm sure everyone else did too. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside!
Another round of interviews were then done by all 30 of us, not an insignificant task to undertake by the judges and instructors. Thankfully, my second interview (in my whole entire life - the first one being yesterday...) went a bit better than the first one - I didn't feel like committing sewerage pipe this time. And you could tell by the looks on all my new pal's faces that their interviews were better than yesterday's too.
We packed cars and headed home for what is going to be the longest 48 hours of my life - the announcement of the 14 finalists on Friday 5 October. Holding thumbs for all the contestants, truly!
And so the wait begins.
Yay that the mind games were kla
