Not being in a position to buy a newish adventure bike, I got hold of a 1150GSA here on WD. I had a bit of trouble at first from the bike standing too long (battery, fuel pump), but all is sorted now.
I must say, I was expecting the bike to be a bit of a hippo, but I've been pleasantly surprised. My commute to work includes a 30km stretch of dirt road on the way to Elim, and without being reckless, I can sit very comfortably at 160km/h on the dirt road. The bike is incredibly stable. I've even taken it to 190km/h on the dirt without my naught biting a hole in my undies.
It's definitely not in the same league as the new crop of big Adv bikes, but considering it's age, and what I paid for it, I think its great, definitely worth it for me to put some decent more off-road biased tyres on, and spruce it up cosmetically..
