A very short report
« on: November 28, 2019, 02:15:30 pm »
It was pointed out recently, and not without merit (no reproach here at all) that I havenít done a ride report myself for long time. This was a very impromptu ride.

I can do a comfortable 350 km on a full tank. But this was a local jol, out on some of the roads east of Pretoria.

Very short, but a start. My first one in about five years. Like they say, a 1000 miles starts with one step (you first crawl before you run).

What was your suspension settings?

I don't see a steering damper. How do you do it?

Tyre pressure?

Is the ground clearance enough? And the seat height?

I bought one like this for my son(same colour) when he was at school after he siesed his DT. At that stage I was bike less and had many a good pub crawl and some dirt rides when he was not looking.

So I came across this...

"Big Boy South Africa got together with two brave young newlyweds who decided to tour Africa on a motorcycle for their honeymoon. They chose a Big Boy CGL150 to do it, basically a delivery bike / daily commuter. This short video sums up their incredible journey which took them from South Africa all the way to Egypt, TWO-UP on one bike."

Love your writing style - terse and to the point.  Route looks riveting, can you share your GPX file?
Great RR eberhard, thanks for sharing! :thumleft:

Well done on finally getting a leg over, and not taking the easy route by avoiding that hectic water crossing :o Looking forward to many more great ride reports :ricky:
