Thank your lucky stars you survived such a harrowing ride!!

You've 30,000 klicks on the bike?

I've not ever heard of a Big Boy motorcycle before?

It is some mass produced Chinese engine that is imported here and locally marketed under a different name. I think they use the Loncin engine and just rebrand it. Quite cheap.

My friend Jean and two friends bought these and toured quite extensively. They love their little CG150's

I rode Jean's bike on a trip to Koro Koro and I tell you at 70 km/h that bike is alot scarier than an HP2 at 160 km/h.

Awesome little machines.

I have since bought three of them (red, orange and black) for the boss's gardener (Joseph) who commutes between Tsakane and Ebotse.

The first one was destroyed when one of our trucks suddenly engaged gears and slammed into a wall, the little CG happened to be in the way  ;)

I bought Joseph a new one and a taxi partially destroyed that one.

Another new oe and then decided to rebuilt  the accident bike, so now we can alternate when it's gotta go for service.

I had to alter the sticked kitt as Joseph is only qualified to ride a 125cc so his CG is a 125cc according to the sticker kitt  :imaposer:

Awesome little machines with little or no fuzz to keep them going.  :thumleft:

What does these go for?

Looks alot like an old GT200 suzuki I wanted to restore. Pretty sure this bike would cost less than the restoration.

This looks very enticing in black!

Drop the crappy tires, hopefully something like scorpion STR would fit. Drop of a few of the extra's. Build your own el-cheapo "scrambler"

I find the CGL150 to be quite a work horse. Where properly looked after and maintained it stands its ground surprisingly well.

I am not versed as to the other models produced by Big Boy and cannot comment there. I picked the CGL150 because it ticked off almost all the requirements I had back then when I was looking for a certain type of bike.

If I may hijack your thread Eberhard, here is a few pics of Pieta. He worked in Livingstone as a pilot and decided he's had enough of dark africa and wants to come work in SA.

So he loaded his earthly possessions on his Jailing and rode back to SA via Epupa falls.

Yes, he's not all that well  :imaposer: :imaposer: :imaposer:

Also assisted a crazy tourist on the Swartbooisdrif section who thought his rental was a great 4x4  :ricky:

Fascinating adventure ride there around Epupa. But isn't the "Boxer" a  Bajaj? Bajaj bikes are renowned to be quite tough :thumleft:

Thanks for that one. Respect. I also want to venture further with the Big Boy, but it takes faith and guts. I have always admired people who do this on small bikes.

That could very well be. I'm not knowledgeable on the subject  :thumleft:

Stumbled upon a report of a husband and wife couple who rode from Cape Town to Cairo on a CG150.  :ricky:
