Sies man!! Sounds like some of you should rather ride Goldwings  :imaposer:
I'm comfortable with 3 consecutive 400km+ days so far, with lekker offroad mostly. Find that loooong tar stretches is worse on my butt with the high vibration - cycling shorts underneath my gear helps a lot.  Stock seat.
But then, 24 years of mountain biking must have frazzled the nerves in my butt a bit

Must say, I have always worn cycling shorts for all trips, anything over 2 hours to 14-hour days in Namibia, they are the answer, I see no point in battling....

But I actually was quite happy with the seat!

My old XT500, that vibrates a bit too - we used sheepskin on the seat for long trips....

I've managed 18 hour days riding on my (padded) seat, with cycling shorts.

And I've dropped my price if anyone wants an X without a plank, check the for sale section.

We "Lisa" has one! We did 11000Km in 6 weeks last year, 95% off road. Great bike in sand and runs on fumes! Have an additional 8 litre tank on opposite side of exhaust! Jup she wears a cycling pants! She's done some Funduro's on it as well!

+1 in CT.

Have owned it for about 8 months now and absolutely love it! Would love to know what mods, changes and 'adventurising' you've done.

Still deciding on that air shock though - but tinkering for the perfect setup still.

Mine's got a larger screen, Touratech tank and pannier rack, and progressive springs up front (apparently). Happy as is.
Still have the rear air shock, which for my limited comparative experience and riding style works well, especially when pumped to allow that 58cm "sag" - does mean that it needs to be adjusted for rider and gear weight, and it always feels waaaay soft when starting out on a cold morning

There must be something to be said about the Air Bag Shock - the adjustability....

I have a Wilbers spring on a C2P body, set up for my weight, but i do have to add a bunch of pre-load if I add a UBag to the back, that is a downside when the bag is off, obviously - otherwise the answer for me is to just ride slower..... Which is not really an answer, is it.....?

Love mine!!

Adjustability - and the progressive 'spring' rate. That's why I'm happy with my air shock.

True, it's more suited to slower riding, but I couldn't go much slower, the X doesn't do reverse.  :lol8:
