What do I do now?

Sooo, as some of you know, my XT is in pieces, never to ride again. After I opened the engine, I saw the most horrible things. The camshaft was scored, piston rocked in the bore, oil lines were plugged with RTV, etc. Yamaha wants 15000 for parts, and that's not even all of the parts. So, I've decided to break up the old thing and part it out as spares (die min goed wat nog gebruik kan word). Thing is, what do I do now? I'm bikeless...I don't think it possible to go back to a smaller bike, as the light weight and stockyness of the 200 I rode a while back just didn't do it for me. Maybe a DRZ400, XT600, XR650, etc might do, but I'm also looking at a comfortable bike to commute with. I'm biased toward thumpers like the BMW 650's and the KTM690 SMC, but maybe I sway in another direction ot:. So...what do you guys advise?
