Karkloof Falls
« on: December 16, 2009, 08:55:29 am »
For those in KZN (or for anyone heading down this way for the holidays) the Karkloof Falls just outside Howick are pumping! We’ve had the most appauling weather here in Howick over the past weeks. Rain, mist and temperatures in the low teens (and this in the middle of summer). We did get a small patch on Sunday when it looked as though we may escape the rain (we were mistaken by the way) and a friend, Tony, and I headed out for a short ride. The dirt road down to the falls was a bit wet and provided a few sphincter twitching moments but the view was well worth it!

Has Sappi relaxed their anti bike rules ? Bikes could not enter that area before. I recall seeing a typical no motorcycle sign at the boom where one used to pay.

No sign at all on the road - and they don't seem to be charging entrance either. I know that they do get a bit grumpy if you head off onto the other roads though...

Thanks Ianb

You can go there on a bike as long as it is licensed and roadworthy.
How can I be lost when I have got nowhere to go?

Nice Pics !  :thumleft: Went through Howick 4 December - This is where the cloudy weather started. In PM is was raining. It rained the whole week we were in Banana Beach. Go throug Howick again on 11 December. The first sunlight was almost at Villiers. Not nice weather for a summer holiday at the seaside with 3 kids. But we travelled a lot and saw some beautifull places.
