Can some one please give some good advice? I can buy a Yamaha XT660Z 2008 model with 13348km on the clock for R39600,
or I can buy a BMW F650GS twin (800cc) 2008 model with 21091Km on the clock for R47850.
The BMW has ABS brakes, heated grips, onboard computer while the Yamaha is standard.
I would like to use the bike to commute to work, to travel weekends (take my wife with me and alone) and do some offroad adventure trips. I would also like to take my wife on a tour in Africa. Can both of these bikes fulfil this purpose?
I have read on the internet that the BMW motorcycles has lots more problems than the Yamaha's and that the Yamaha will save me money on the long run. Is that the case and will the BMW give me more breakdowns than the Yamaha?
Is 21091km a lot for a BMW f650gs twin?
I have also read that the Yamaha handles well on the offroad, but I could find much on the BMW f650gs twin. How is the BMW's offroad experience?
Can you experts PLEASE advise on all of the above and which is better?
