From whom did you get the Explorer?

I hope to have a type of back to back  dirt trip  with  the 800 an dt 1200 Xc's in the not so distant future.  Actually will be good to have the Crosstourer and the Explorer on the same trip.

Hope the dealer can work it out.  In two midns - must I get the  Explorer or the 800.

Long trips  2 up the 1200 will be the better, but if the long trips is not so often , then wonder if the 800 Xc will do the trick two up long trips -  the price difference R50,000-00 ( Can get an 800  for about R95000-00 ; little km's.

But just love the sound of the

Just seems to me everybody wants to now ride offroad in luxury, the "toughguy" image has become an executive one "who can afford the best" well I can't so enjoy, I prefer roughing it. What used to be adventurous has become who can afford to be seen as "money for entertainment"mmmmmmm.

So you prefer to sleep in the rain and mud even if there is a tent! Then enjoy bud enjoy! A competant rider on an Explorer can do as much as average Joe on a KLR.

Thanks Metaljockey, great revue and in a few years when my eleben fiddy is ver' old and I cant be a "tough guy" on it anymore I may get one of these.

Interesting and very good ride report. Love the sound of that triple motor when its ear gets twisted.

Joined the Triumph lads over the weekend in Fouriesburg. Took the Explorer for a spin - Tar only. There were fierce winds which makes for interesting moments at high speeds

It really performs well at high speeds. Engine very linear and smooth with a turbine sound to thrill.

Brakes are superb and good throttle response.

Nick from Traditional Triumph intimated that it's home is on tar with limited dirt capability.

So if you are looking for a thrilling tourer, then the Explorer is up there.

I beg to differ…..’’Some off road capability my ass”” :patch:
I took her on trails where my wife got off and walked…..I have done the same “”technical sections that I have done on my KLR and XR before and the only nervous point was on sand.  I will go anywhere a oke with a GS goes and that with mag wheels which (touch wood :peepwall:) seems quite durable
