..that time of year autumn/winter, so Western Cape (i.e. Cape Town) is cold and wet, Eastern Cape could be cold and wet, KZN is perfect, so is rest of SA, just coldest during June/July, some of August.
In Namibia it is probably the best time of year, otherwise extremely hot. Swaziland great...

Had exactly the same issue with the 800GS - at 30k service (if I remember right, could be 20k) also got the bike back with precisely the same symptoms. They also replaced standard/original 5W (could be 7.5W but I don't think so) with 10W because of the pap springs. Took it back, they replaced...
