PE Dogs Sunday Ride 11 March 2012 The Coastal Ride ?

Thanks guys - it was great riding with you guys.  Special thanks to Jupiter for the initiative and organising and J-mo for looking after everyone, especially when my KLR began to misfire.  Made it home with a few more splatters, but the last 10 k's all seemed to be hunky-dory again.  ??? Oh...

Looking for cheap hand guard or guards Gauteng - RED KLR650

I also want one for my red 2004 KLR - left side.  I tried to glue it with Q-Bond, but it only lasted about a month. Anybody else got one lying around?  I am in the PE area, but can arrange pick-up in Pretoria or Cape Town area.

    KLR brake caliper

Hey Dogs... I feel a bit like a tit... seems like the spring plate shifted while fitting the holding pin and caused the pads to mis-align.  Problem solved, riding like a bomb again.  Thanks for all your support!  Next time, I'll check first before putting my foot in my mouth! :peepwall:

    KLR brake caliper

Thanks Piet, but when I saw the pic before looking at my bike, I also thought that is the piston, but on the bike, I found that the piston is in the form of a hollow cup.  When opening the caliper to remove the pads, I had to push that cup/piston down.  It seems like the one in the pic has...

    KLR brake caliper

I fitted new front brake pads over the weekend, referring to advice I got off the net (https://www.klr650.marknet.us/brakepads.html).  One picture is puzzeling me (see below). That cylindrical "thing" inside the piston (looks like a wooden dowel)...  Well, my '04 KLR does not have that...  I...

Got my KLR, and here I am!

Hi y'all, I have a few Dog friends who made me "lus" for the whole adventure touring thing, so I browsed the internet (mostly this cool forum!) and the decision was between a KLR, DR and a Dakar.  Well, after considering that this would be my very first bike, I decided to go for an older KLR -...

    Here I am!

So, finally I got my first bike - a 2004 KLR650!  This forum helped me a lot in deciding on the right bike, what to look out for and differences between the ones I had in mind. So, I took her for her (and my) first real ride on Voting Day, had my first fall, almost made my first water crossing...
