1150's Hartebeespoort Canals Ride - 24 September - Map Added

I'm keen to but will have to leave early to get home by 12ish. If you leave Pinehaven an 07:30 and it looks like it is close to 50km to the canal start so you should get to to the canals at about 08:00. As I will be coming from Pretoria's side what I will do is plan to enter the route near Brits...

Leatt Brace - Must have or Overkill?

For me it's a must wear because I have one. To determine if it's a must have I suppose you have to look at the chances of hurting your neck and the possible implications of hurting your neck. If you have a 50% chance of hurting an ankle in an off versus a 5% percent chance of hurting your neck...

Price cut for two wheels at tolls

If you If you don't have a tag they will use photos taken of your vehicle from the front, above and behind and then do optical character recognition on the number plate. As far as I know you will then be sent a bill in the post.

    Motorcycle Myths! Add your own!

It doesn't matter where the mass is connected to the bike but rather where the mass is located in space. If I put a 200kg weight on a 10m pole and attach the pole to the front axle the COG is not lower because the weight is attached to the axle. As someone on another forum said think of the...

    Motorcycle Myths! Add your own!

If you are taking the bike and the rider as two separate objects then surely standing would raise the riders COG but do nothing to the bike's COG? The mass distribution bike has not changed at all.

Solved - Brakes/ABS on 1150GSA not working - advice please

After a call to an always helpful Lenny at Bavarian, the problem has been solved. There is a small big of springy metal that closes the microswitch by the foot brake when the lever is not depressed. When I came off I must have knocked the lever and the springy metal bit didn't push against the...

Solved - Brakes/ABS on 1150GSA not working - advice please

I have disconnected and reconnected the battery and that didn't work, the battery is gel type so it shouldn't/couldn't have lost electrolyte and the bike fell on the left hand side so the hand guard that would have been affected was on the clutch side. Foot brake is a bit bent for some reason...

Solved - Brakes/ABS on 1150GSA not working - advice please

I had a controlled dismount in a little bit of mud this morning, in other words I fell over. No visible damage to the bike except for the fact that the brakes are no longer working and the ABS light keeps on flashing. The brakes will work if you pull the lever hard but the servo or pump or...
