nice thread, and it supports the idea of riding with more experienced guys... one of my most amazing "discoveries" recently, is the target fixation bit mentioned by JM. whenever i came into a corner too fast (for my comfort) i used to tense up, brake hard, and come perilously close to leaving...

if i lived in george... one weekend i would do attakwas (overnight) van wyksdorp, rooiberg, calitzdorp, outshoorn, montague and home the next weekend i would do montague, those same back roads to uniondale, avontuur (overnight somewhere), prince alfreds pass, gam (?) se pad, phantom and the 7...
