I have had vibrations on my 800gs at low speeds (around 30kph) after changing tyres to heidi scouts. It turns out that its loose spokes... I think this is a commonly overlooked problem... Make sure your spokes are tight!!!

Goodluck If I were you i would be frothing to do Nam again. On my recent Kenya to Cape, Nam and Northern Cape was some of the best riding, It got better from Capri onwards. We shipped our bikes to Mombasa, and the headaches that we got were just not worth it...
