Hi Prototype, What year is your XR? The 1996-2000 models clearance is 0.081-0.0121mm for intake valve and 0.106-0.147mm for the exhaust valve. I also thought clearance was measured under the nut - it's not - 'between the rocker arm pad and the valve stem' is where. But here's my experience...

The bike was running fine before, it is just maintainence. The manual does say that you must never turn it clockwise because the decompression system works one way only :thumleft:
