Aaah, thank you Judy, but it is partly thanks to you! Di, to add to a starting on a smaller bike, be sure to get some kind of training.  I went for the DP1 training at ADA SA and Malibu is an excellent instructor (or drill sergeant!).

I agree, rather start of with a smaller bike to learn on.  You have to crawl before you can walk.  I started of with a smaller bike (Djebel 200) and it was the best thing I could possibly do.  I also went on numerous outrides and trips with my hubby (who rides a 800GS) and on the gravel the...

My husband sold his car a couple of months after he bought his bike - also due to the fact that the car was parked in the garage 100% of the time and not being used.  We still have my car to rely on, so there was no point in keeping his. And yes, it has its perks (for him of course) like not...
