***The Wilddog Adv V-Strom Thread. ***

Eish I got tyre issues...don't want to talk about it, my stupidity for being cheap and using crap outlet. Where is a good place to get tyres in Cape Town.  Gonna throw out trailwings and put on Annekees or whatever you call them.  Can I just replace the front as the back is ok and has a lot of...

Please help me to find a DL650

Congrats...she will put a smile on your dial whenever and whereever you ride her.  Don't be gentle,  ride it like you stole it.  They love a bit of abuse.

    Beaver Rally 2013

Beaver was flipping awesome this year.  Stunning venue, band was a bit shyte and don't worry about Alan in the nude,  guy is a brilliant mechanic I hear.  Actually the Beaver is the only rally I go to now...had a brilliant ride there down the koo valley and then back on dirt over Ouberg Pass...

:ricky:No we are just busy riding them, and nothing ever goes wrong with a Wee so there is nothing to complain about or get help with....same cannot be said for  other makes like Yamaha, Truimph or BMW. :pot: :pot: :pot: :pot: :pot: :pot:

***The Wilddog Adv V-Strom Thread. ***

Hey guys long time....just had a fantastic weekend on the Wee.  Work and family commitments kept me busy until 2pm Saturday Afternoon, then I  jumped on the bike and rode the long way around to the Beaver Rally in Montague (up the N1 and then Via the Koo valley).  What a blast chomping through...

ouch GS650 rider down in Namibia

Yes ouch..prayers and best wishes for the rider.......I for one don't like the look of that top box hanging way out back behind the rear axle line...loaded up with a bit of weight and on dirt  it could affect the bikes handling very badly, perfect recipe for a tank slapper.  Always see topboxes...

This bike is my new adventure

I had one of these as a kid in the 80's...brilliant in a straight line and a lot of fun..used to race my friend on his 900f...only problem is they are no good in corners or at stopping.  Be very careful...totalled mine, going too fast for corner in bluff road Durban, bloody thing would not stop...

Cape Town to Kibeho Rwanda on a Wee, what do I need..

Very sound advice, many thanks....one big question turtle...I looked at the flying brick system and it seems to go against two basic principles of biking that  I learnt  35 years ago..  keep weight as low as possible and do not carry weight further back than the line of the back axle.  The...

Assistance Needed on WHAT bike to buy!!!

Nice choices....and you will still have lots of change for nice kit.....there are no issues I know of.....guys on the 1000's love their bikes but always say they miss their dl650s....think the the 1000 uses more  petrol, tyres, etc and being heavier is more of a handfull off road.  The 650 is...

Assistance Needed on WHAT bike to buy!!!

LOL,  this is one of those myths people go on about, Spoke wheels are only great for hectic enduro stuff where you need a little give in the rim (and you would anyway need to upgrade to excell rims or something to go that hectic).  Why does the basic BMW 650 now have mags, because they are...

Assistance Needed on WHAT bike to buy!!!

The DL650 is the Suzuki V-strom I was talking about, yeah its ugly as sin but she gives good head so you can forgive her that.

Assistance Needed on WHAT bike to buy!!!

The transalp is a great punchy bike but the chassis is too short for comfortable 2 up.  I suggest you have a ride on a Suzuki v-strom 650, you will get a basically new one for that price, they are a tottally reliable bike (check out the v-strom thread) and very cheap to run.  Its also a very fun...

Cape Town to Kibeho Rwanda on a Wee, what do I need..

Woke up this morning with a goal firmly in mind..Kibeho Rwanda.. I want to travel from Cape Town to Kibeho and the best/most fun way to get there will be on my Wee.  Am I crazy?  I know the Wee is a pig in mud and soft sand and it will be about a 13000km round trip, but the wee is brilliant on...

Is it illegal to park a motorcycle on the pavement in Capetown

Many thanks to all you who tried to help and support me with this serious issue - Years ago the city tried to stop bikers parking on the pavement,  we protested and won,  now they are trying to do it again.  We must continue the fight elsewhere, but unfortunately, and I do apologise,  I made the...

What constitutes acceptable mileage when buying a bike

Yeah this is a difficult one and i am sure that opinion will vary and be heated.  If you are not going to ride a lot, then you can go for something a little older but with more of a nice to have feel.  If you are going to ride a lot and hard, then obviously you will want something newer and...

Is it illegal to park a motorcycle on the pavement in Capetown

:laughing4: Nah I am quite happy to come out from behind the computer screen to let you attempt to shove my head up my arse ..so my lack of education must definitely be the problem......or maybe the fact that I cannot believe any biker would actually pay for parking.  Then I got to thinking and...

Do you use your bike to commute to work?

The question should be "do you ride to work or work to ride" I used to "commute" into the city everyday but did not like being an ant, so changed things and now everyday is different,  I either work from home, or commute by bike around the province to various towns (which is fun cause work pays...
