Hi all,

I phoned Bavarian BMW and they advised me that this is in fact possible and relatively straight forward. Just want to get some advice if someone has done this before...

My situation: Have a 2002/3 BMW R1150RT with a damaged crank  :crybaby2:. Finding it difficult to get engineering guys to fix it and get the right bearings. So, now I'm looking at fitting a R1150GS engine in my bike. BMW says it is possible and pretty straight forward - even if the GS engine is twin ignition (my old one isn't). I've found a secondhand GS engine and will go and look at it tomorrow.

So, my questions:
Is it really so straight forward?
What would be a good price to offer for the GS engine (has done about 70k kms and apparantly in good shape)?
Thanks in advance for any help/advice!  :notworthy:
