Got this very low mileage 2002 XT 600 E today.
Actually bought it for an old Pal, he's looking at an older thumper with E/Start......but I dont really know if he really wants it (medical issues etc etc).
BUT no worries, if he doesnt take it at what I paid I'm 1000% happy ;D
Bought it from an old Tannie from Clarens (farm bike), belonged to a well known Oom who sadly passed away about 2 years ago. LITERALLY a Barn Find, my son battled to move all the stuff around and get this out of the Plaas Stoor, standing under a couple old kunsmis sakke O0
Mileage is 6000........it also has a service book stamped at 2000 km. Natis says "New", so this was bought new, and the mileage must be real. Tyres were also changed this week, the old tyres were completely perished.
In good nick, I wouldnt say PERFECT, but hell that mileage is ridiculous. Got some farm scratches, rear carrier is scratched, and the plastics need a very good refurb. Handlebars feel skew, so it must be bent from a fall or 3. Engine looks original and VERY clean, no scuff marks etc etc.
This may be something to really fix up nicely, cosmetically, and it may be a VERY sweet ride with all the service etc etc original Docs that are with it I think.
1) ........... What do I need to look at on these particular Model, except obvious regular service items?
2)............ Parts availability - HUGE issue or not really?
3)............ Where does one get a stock exhaust again, this "Cowley" thingie is really really loud?
