Advice needed - R716 Vereeniging to Oranjeville - ROADWORKS

Apologies in advance - I am planning a different kind of 2 wheel trip - we riding bicycles for charity from Jhb to Durban departing October 18th, 2017.

Can anybody confirm if the roadworks on this section (R716) have been completed and the road is in good condition.
