Any 1150 owner in PE willing to help?

I'm gonna see a '99 1150 with 120,000 km tomorrow in Port Elizabeth (I'm in Grahamstown). I've done some reading on things to look for but would certainly benefit from someone else experience.  I don't know much about the bike other than the recent owner bought it some months ago and haven't been able to ride it that much.

Is 50k a good price for this bike? it comes with the BMW panniers. I will probably keep it 1-2 years and then sell it. Will it hold its value?
