I'm looking for a set of good 50/50 tyres for an upcoming trip next month.
The route will be sort-of unplanned, but I don't want to be limited by tyres if I see a nice track to ride, be it sandy, muddy, rocky or whatever.
Now I know most of us KLR okes (me included) are cheapskates that don't usually buy expensive tyres or anything expensive for that matter, but I'm a little gatvol of the poor mileage and dodgy cracking and stuff that I got out of my last few budget tyres.
So considering my intended usage I have narrowed my choice down to the TKC80 or E-09 Dakar. I don't like the solid centre rib on the E-07, I will replace it as soon as it wears down to that point (no drainage grooves on wet tar is beyond scary!) so I figured the E-09 will last just as long and provide better grip in the rough and sandy stuff.
Any real life experience or advice with these will be appreciated. Thanks!
