We spent the afternoon exploring. The locals were locked in a serious soccer match with very vocal support from the community. At the hotel we enjoyed cold beers and friendly service. We were told that we had to return for supper by the waitress as the food was by far the best in the area. We did and were not disappointed.
What impressed me was the state of the houses, so many old places with character in perfect condition, the hotel and Pep Stores included.
After sleeping well we were ready for the Swartberg pass. We would not be disappointed.
