hi guys as most of you know I have to XT's the Z and the R. both 2011 models. I feel like a tool for having two bikes in the same class. Ive advertised here and on gumtree without much success. I have now been approached by a chap in east london looking to get into the dual sport scene and has a 2004 R1 and would like to swop bikes. considering ill still have the Z this is appealing.

here is the R1.

here is my R.

first things that stick out for me is that the age. it cant be financed so will only be able to sell it to a cash buyer If and when I need to. that market is a lot smaller. spoken to Yamaha and the trade is +- 35k - 40k and the mileage is fine according to them it will run way past 100-000kms without issue.

it has a lot of extras and is a good looking bike. assuming everything is as it appears and would be very nice to diversify.

my concerns are if i want to sell it will I be able to? I did take a loan for the XT which im still paying for but get no pleasure out of two bike in the same class and haven't exactly been hammered with interest. the R1 will be loads of fun and very much different in terms of rider experiences.

what do you guys think about this deal?
