Hi Dogs, I just bought myself a new playbike. My thanks to blauth for his help. Now looking for a way to get it to Tanzania. Had various quotes, door-to-door R17500, warehouse to warehouse R9700 and air-freight R13340 without DGR charges etc. Personally I think these prices are crazy.
I keep getting told that the bike and crate are charged at volumetric weight, can anyone explain what that means and on what basis it is calculated. So a 112kg bike plus 30kg crate ends up being charged at 382kg WTF!
Are there any transporters on this forum who can assist with a reasonable quote or point to a company that can. Bike is not of the type to run all day down a tar road for 5 days on the trot otherwise I'd just ride it here.
