We met at Maxis over the highway in Midrand early on Friday morning for registration, breakfast, meet and greet etc. The first challenge then was to get through the traffic and out of the city – our destination for Friday night: Clarens.
The BMW GS ECO1000 event has replaced the successful GS Challenge and now the concept is to ride your own routes to the nominated destinations, doing on road or off road as you like, whilst minimising your impact on the environment.
We went with an open mind not knowing what to expect exactly but as it turned out we had an absolutely awesome weekend of riding, meeting other like minded people, and generally having a really great time, not to mention the huge party laid on by BMW on the Saturday night.
