Having read the thread about the reliability of bikes, I was wondering when and what would fail first on my 8 or 9 year old GS.
Ibought the bike 2nd hand from fellow WD in PE a few years back and have put about 70,000 kilos on since bought. I've had no problems, but as I get closer to 100,000 kays, I wonder whether I should not have the bike given a reasonably major preventative renewal/ overhaul/ rebuild?
What say you? What can I expect to get trouble with first and does it make sense to do preventative repairs... example, if the drive shaft is prone to failure after let us say 120,000 kays, should I not have it rebuilt now and have peace of mind that I will not be stranded next to the N2 soon?
