Bike
BMW R80GS
I have withdrawn the sale

Price:  (not negotiable). Buyer pays for shipping

Detail: BMW R80G/S
Year: 1981 (October) (EU spec)
Odo: 35000km
VIN:

Motorbike is registered in my name and licenced. Will supply roadworthy certificate
Matching frame and engine numbers
Restored to OEM specifications with only components from BMW, motorworks.co.uk, motobins.co.uk and siebenrock.de
Only exceptions to this are:
Heavy duty diode-board (Emerald Island versions), battery cables (all bought from motorworks) (Originals still in working order and available)
Wider footpegs ( Wild@Hart) (have the originals)

Reason for selling: I can only afford one bike and this bike is too much of a collector’s piece for the style of riding I do. I do not what to damage it

What has been done:
Bike had a complete rebuild beginning 2014
Engine, gearbox, frame, panels, wheels, forks, shock
Everything was repainted, power-coated or ceramic coated
All seals, bearings, gaskets replaced
Barrels Nikasil treated
Valves are hardened to allow for all fuel types
Engine has been balanced
Wheels rebuilt with new stainless steel spokes. Hubs and rims ceramic coated. I had the front wheel completely rebuilt again to make sure it is correct)
Metzeler Sahara 3 tires (less than 4000km), heavy duty tubes. Very good condition
All the wiring looms replaced with new OEM ones
New switches (oil pressure, neutral, back brake), relays, voltage regulator and fuses
Handlebar switchgear replaced with OEM
New mirrors
New indicators (front and back)
New fuel, choke and clutch cables
New seat cover (Sienbenrock)
Braided front brake hose. Brakes rebuilt, new brake pads
Front forks rebuilt including new seals. Also has brace between the fork arms
Rear shock rebuilt by MP Suspension (www.mpcustomvalve.co.za)
Carburettors completely rebuilt and all the jets, needles, rubber parts, gaskets, floats, screws, springs replaced with BMW Bing OEM parts
Speedometer was rebuilt and calibrated (was showing over)
Fuel tank has a new lining in (old one came undone). Tank repainted with new stickers
Fuel petcock rebuilt with new filter, gasket and seals
New stainless steel silencer (Keihan version from motorworks)
OEM wind deflector fitted (white with blue GS sticker)
I removed to auxiliary air system (it is working and can be refitted if needed)
New rockers- previous ones were mutilated by a previous owner

Bike was run in for first 1000km after rebuilt and all oil replaced and re-torqued

I recently replaced the oil (engine, gearbox and swing arm), spark plugs, fuel and air filter
Valve clearances, ignition timing and carburettors set and synchronised

I like things to be correct and reliable

Pictures:
Side covers were not fitted when I took the photos. In same condition as rest of bike
