Boot clip failing after 4 times of use

Oneal Element clip did not want to open anymore after 5 times of use , suspect it cracked where the pin comes trhough so it did not want to come loose , wiggled it and played to no avail , eventually decided to pull until whatever happened , so it came loose , crack probably wedged open and came out that way .

Happened to anyone else ?
