I broke the middle finger on my right hand on Friday.
I also have a trip planned, circumnavigating Lesotho at the end of the month.
Luckily nothing has moved position in the broken bone (middle phalanx. 3 cracks running diagonally down it though) so I’m just supposed to buddy tape it to its neighbor and see an Ortho in 2 weeks.
I can 1 finger brake with my index finger but can’t put any power into the brake lever if I try add my middle finger. I almost always use 2 fingers for braking so it feels a little “weak” with just index finger. Feels like normal riding is fine, but if I really need to emergency stop it’s gonna be an issue.
Maybe the middle one heals enough by the end of the month? Maybe I will just learn to be cool with 1 finger braking.
Would you go on a trip with 1 finger?
