I just got me a bush bike. It was sold to me as a 250 but when I started to clean it up it turned out to be 175. When I went to look at the bike it started at the first kick after standing a long time. Because it is not roadworthy I decided to load it on the bakkie and not ride it home.
This afternoon I decided to give it a good clean and service. I noted that there is not a drop of fuel in the tank, wich I found wierd. When I took out the sump plug to drain the I got about 750ml of petrol out the sump but no oil ???
Has anybody got any idea how the fuel could have gotten in there and what I must look for.
After some research the bike turned out to be a Suzuki PE 175 (1980 - 1982)
At the bottom of the carb there is a little pipe that runs to the crank case - surely it cannot be normal for the fuel to overflow in there. Could the float be jammed ???
