CAPE TOWN TO MOZAM RETURN TRIP

Hi, Hello, Howsit, Molo and awe!  :ricky:

This is my 1st post so apologies if i am rehashing the subject.

We are planning a trip to Mozam from Cape Town at the end of July. (15 days) A few questions if you VETS have some time to help us out with a few answers to some questions we have:


1. Has anyone used their phone as gps instead of an actual garmin and if so can you upgrade the GPS to accommodate other countries - Samsung s3, samsung s4 and an Iphone.

2. There are 3 of us on GS 800's - no support vehicle - Silly or normal?

3. Has anyone done the route before? If so can you share your itinerary

4. Tyre choice - we all ride enduro so appreciate the off road more so will be doing offroad where ever possible - any suggestions on a good 50/50- Tyre?

5. I can swing a spanner but could do with a lesson or two on basics mechanically - any suggestions

6. Any other suggestions of things i should be thinking about - any links to other threads that you think will be helpful - PLEASE PLEASE post in the thread.
