Cedarberg trip

My brother and me are planning a trip from Ceres past the Matroosberg , through Sutherland (sleepover), Tankwa Karoo, Wupperthal and back to Ceres this weekend.  We are going to need fuel on the way, any places where we could get some? I seems like our route includes crossing the Doring rivier. I believe there is a float that you can put you bike on and cross.  How does this work? Thanks for you input.
