Changing a tube in the wild

Hi all, I plan my first road (off road) trip next week. 5 guys hitting Baviaans, die Hell and some other passes in between. I got the kit, and some spare tubes, but never changed a tube. Will like to hear some good and bad experiences and any hints or trick that might help if I need to fit a new tube in the f800gsa.
