Coolant issue

I wonder if someone can help.

When we were returning from a ride yesterday [quite rustig], once we stopped the engine coolant purged itself through the bleeder pipe [there were 4 bars on the thermo indicatator] until it was at the very low level bar. The bikes were serviced about 1000km ago and we have never had a problem.

Would anyone know what the problem could be?
