I own a F650GS Dakar (2003), done 93000km with a few problems. However, since I replaced the original chain an interesting problem has reared its head. The circlip of the master link stays in place irrespective of the road condition or driving style, but the moment I drive continuously for a distance at high speed (130km/h+ for a Dakar), the circlip tends to come off...
Any one out there with a similar problem and what can it be?
For the wise guys out there:
·The clip is installed correctly.
·You not suppose to drive that speed. And your problem is?
·Get a bike with a shaft. "True BMW's got shafts but only REAL Bikes have chains."
·Install a continuous chain - True, but for field maintenance special tools are required
