Dakar - chain & sprockets?????

On the way home today my chain popped off. It looks as though the back sprocket is worn and when I popped it back on it was making a funny grinding noise. Luckily this happened about 1km from home.

Do you have to get your chain and sprockets from BMW or are these pretty standard for most bikes?
