has anyone had issues with the pleated type filters as are standard on the gs?
I went on a 3 day 1400 km trip just after my 40k service at Donford. I had a tumble on the first day but finished the weekend. After the trip i checked all the damage and found my airfilter damaged and letting in dust, the snorkel took a hit so I thought it was because of the crash.
two weeks ago, 1k after my 50k donford service, i went on a 700km trip. luckily the rubber stayed down. The Tankwa was super dusty and i decided to clean and check everything after the trip. I found this( see picture attached ).
no falling over, but the filter ripped and left a gaping hole on the one side, which let through sand into the airbox. had to take everything of and clean it out.
so my question is, is this the filter? is this shody workmanship?
is it worth the R1300 to buy a K&N? and will it solve the problem..
