I have an old motorcycle tank sitting empty as I need to do some other work. For it's age it's still in great nick with almost no rust inside. Is it a silly idea to put some diesel in there and shake it about every now and then to keep the metal "protected" ? Diesel contains some oil. Obviously once I use it again one day just rinse well with petrol.
