The splines on the shaft that the front sprocket is attached to are stripped on my DT (1983 model) so the cranckcase would need to be split to replace the shaft. It is also making a clacking/scraping noise when it freewheels with my weight on it + the noise got worse recently when I tightened the chain on a service. Is this noise a broken bearing? Is it worth fixing myself, how long would it take and will I be able to get spares?
