So....I'm a total dirt noob. I've stuffed around for a total of about 15mins on a friends 350SX and thats pretty much my dirt experience on 2 wheels (plenty experience on 4wheels though)
I got my bike onto some loose stuff yesterday and felt like I was seconds away from binning it while seated. Standing did make it feel more stable but I feel really hunched over trying to reach the bars. Im kinda putting weight on my feet and also my knees putting pressure on the tank as I found that feels more stable.
How high (or low) should the bars be? Waist height? Below?
I figure my ergo's right now are something in the vicinity of:
I just want to get things setup roughly right so I can go and practice without learning bad habits or being hamstrung by shitty setup. Im wondering if an inch of bar risers would help much or should I just harden the hell up and learn to ride without them?
Thanks for any dirt road wisdom
