Feb ride to Fish river Canyon

So the wife and I are planning to ride from PE to Fish River Canyon in mid Feb. The plan is to camp at Ai Ais and explore the surrounding canyons. I have been to Ai Ais before and have always wanted to return to explore a bit more.

I know there are lots of good spots to visit, but there are always some that are better than others.... so does anyone have any really good spots around the canyon  that should be a definite visit and cannot be missed?
