A nice longer trip was long overdue and not ever being into Swaziland was just wrong...
So I wangled it all that eventually even wifey was excited that we were going to make our 3year anniversary outing a trip to Swazi on the bike! Lekker lekker lekker
From Badplaas we took the gravel road parallel to the border through the 'ghost' mining town of Diepgezicht... it is very weird - all just empty but still looking fairly good (anybody know more history of this place?). Awesome setting deep at the valley bottom from which the quiet (didn't pass one car) dirt road winds it's way up and up the valley through/adjacent to the Songimvelo NR. Eventually we joined the Baberton-Josefdal road, just before reaching the border post. I love quiet border posts - that is how they should be me thinks...
Beautiful place!

Not really knowing what to expect on the other side of the border we were indeed pleasantly surprised at the friendliness of the people and the cleanliness of villages. The road from Bulembu to Pigg's Peak is roughish gravel and twists through plantations. At Pigg's Peak we stopped to decide which way we are going to go - eventually we just went to have a look at the Phophonyane Falls. It has a nice, but too expensive for us(sorry vroutjie..), lodge/tented camp. We returned through Pigg's Peak and headed towards the Maguga Dam. They have a nice small campsite and after pitching camp and getting some firewood, life was extremely good! Wifey made sure we brought all our supplies with so we never needed to look for shops and the like. The bike was quite heavy however, so digging into the grub was even more satisfying...
Racks working perfectly to load firewood
This dam is pretty impressive
The Yammie - geez, it's a sexy taxi..?!
