I have a 2011 G650GS with 28,000km.
It cuts out while riding, engine and all lights die. There seems to be no pattern, happens while accelerating, decelerating, slow and fast riding. On my way back from Koedoeskloof - 180km - it happened about 15 times, sometimes in quick succession and other times after longish riding periods.
It starts again perfectly and runs normally.
I have noticed that when turning the key the dash lights sometimes don't come on in the start position, I then turn off and back on and it seems fine again.
Could the cutting out be ignition related or should I be looking elsewhere as well ? The side stand switch seems to be fine.
