Gifberg roads (gates open?)

Hi everyone. We are planning a trip around the Gifberge near Vanrhynsdorp and I saw nice looking roads on my Slingsby map. I however notice there are a number of gates shown on the map. Does anyone know if these gates are locked and if the roads are open? Particularly the gates shown on the route drawn in here, which we plan on taking:
