I was looking for a gap to get onto the bike and when the clouds opened up I jumped on the KLR and ride some of the well known roads around Durbanville.
Eventually I ended up at the water crossing on the Mellish road and realized that it is wider as a result of the rain, but decided what the hell, I’ve done it many times before.
Halfway through I feel the water over my boots and see it rising. Then the old 600 died/drowned and I had to push it out through the other half getting my boots filled with ice could water. After half an hour of kicking (Ja Boet, no happy button) and waiting and kicking it sputtered to life and I could set off home. Was good to get out though, even for an hour or two.
