The mood was set on Friday already, when we met some of the DAWGs at the Barrel. I knew then, that I had to get these spirited okes together and make em Dirty. Yeah, Rats never misses a good party either.
When i realised that Sunday was gonna be a befokde sunny winters day, the sms-ing started.
We me at Stellies Dros (vir jou maase kos) at 11h00. I think we had already seen XXX and Minxes crew passing us at that point, on the Kolenhof Rd. For those that i didnt contact, theres no other reason than the logistics and size of the pack.
The type of exploring I had in mind wasnt gonna be conducive to a mother possy. We needed to keep it to a discrete group, which could infiltrate unexplored territory.
The section we where gonna explore where points that i had googled the Sunday morning at work. Yeah, i do some homework if required.
After a little stint around the Eidasvalley dam (Operators and his packs last report), we found ourselves regrouping on Hellshoogte.
Took the Keyliemore turnoff and worked our way round some farm roads, in the Pniel direction. Theres basically a 'paaitjie' that runs parallel to the tar road all the way to the R45 (Paarl - Franschoek rd).
From there we put our bikes into STEALTH Mode, to enter the back of the Berg River Dam. Dont know about you okes, but my KTM (albeit not quite as full of gadgets as a BM), has two distinc modes of operation:
Urban Mode (Baffle out, rev limit 7000 rpm, headlights on)
Stealth Mode (Baffle in, limit 3000 rpm, lights off)
