Help please: someone to work on old (70's) two strokes?

Been on the phone to a few people now and it seems close to impossible to find someone to work on older two stroke (road) bikes.

Can someone help perhaps with a reference? I thought any (old) mechanic worth his salt could/would work on these glorified weed-eaters, now it seems that no one wants to touch them...  :-\
