Dear Adventure Riders, ;D
my holiday plan for this year is to pack my bike with tent, luggage and girlfriend and going on a ride from Cape Town back to Cape Town over 2 1/2 weeks. Departure date is the 21tst of Dec and Arrival 7th of Jan.
Due to the girlfriend on the backseat, the route should be pillion friendly and a mixture of tar and nice gravel. I negotiated with her that I will get days off during the trip where I can do more technical rides like Sani Pass and she will rest and relax.
So the rough route plan is as follows:
Cape Town - Prince Albert
Prince Albert - Swartberg Pass - Cango Caves - Oudtshoorn - Willowmore
maybe over Steytlerville through the Klein Karro
up to Lesotho border
down to the South Coast- Port Shepstone
around Lesotho along Drakensberg
and somehow back home to CPT
Originally I had planned to ride through the Transkei but due to the fact that I will be on my own except my girlfriend and almost every black construction worker in CPT is going to spend his holiday there and get drunk I postponed the idea to a ride some long weekend next year.
So please guys make suggestions because nobody knows your areas like you do! :ricky:
