The cush rubbers on the KLR don't seem to be an area of too much concern, but there is a time when they do wear out and need to be replaced. Is there any kind of “rule of thumb” when it comes to cush rubber wear and the “amount of allowable play” on the rear sprocket? At what point is the play too much and thus the cush rubbers need to be replaced?
I have an '06 KLR650 with 38000km on the clock. With the bike on the side stand, I can move the sprocket forwards and backwards about half a tooth in either direction from the centre point; is this too much?
